Paulina is our long-time friend who understands our brand perfectly. When she fulfilled her dream of buying a house in the charming district of Poznań, she decided to trust us, so she entrusted us with the task of designing and building most of the furniture and interior details.
Here is the extraordinary world of plywood furniture that we created in our favorite photographer’s home.
Paulina embraces eclecticism, which gives her home a unique atmosphere and unparalleled character, fully reflecting her extraordinary personality. This place is not just a private sanctuary but also a space for self-realization. That’s why she decided to invest in custom plywood furniture that not only highlights but also supports her individual lifestyle.
The living room features a floating TV cabinet that, despite its mass, gives an impression of lightness, and a simple modular shelving unit with drawers, cabinets, and shelves. The ribbed fronts add a touch of style, reminiscent of wainscoting.
Let’s turn slightly to the right to see the kitchen area…
During the furniture work for the entire house, we had the opportunity to unleash our design creativity and introduce some previously unseen elements into the interiors. One of them was the plywood wainscoting on the ceiling. Paulina didn’t have to persuade us for long about this idea – we knew right away that it was the perfect solution. While working on this project, we developed a special technology for creating wooden cladding on walls and ceilings, and the end result exceeded our wildest expectations. The kitchen and living room are separated not only by tiles. The distinct delineation of zones and the addition of a cozy, slightly rustic character were largely achieved through the unique ceiling design.
We quickly descended one floor. The home office is the place where Paulina, as a professional photographer, works on her sessions. Here, you’ll find a large custom-made T-shaped desk, providing two work areas. There’s also ample shelf space for storage. Of course, we applied wainscoting on the ceiling here as well.
The cozy, small interior with a view of the green garden fosters Paulina’s focus on creative computer work.
Meanwhile, we leave the office and head towards the internal garage door.
Paulina, well acquainted with our character, presented us with an extraordinary challenge – sliding, ribbed plywood doors for the garage. We couldn’t resist, because who, if not us, could take on such a creation. It turned out as it did. Absolutely fabulous!
Let’s return to the first floor, where we encounter another set of custom plywood doors, behind which hides a storage space under the stairs. Another beautiful detail catches the eye – a wooden frame embracing the wide, welcoming entrance to the kitchen and living room, which we are just entering…
…to unveil the extraordinary portal structure around the patio doors. Its diagonal form prevents it from dominating the interior with its bulkiness and gives the ordinary patio doors a unique, spacious character.
Sills and recesses made of plywood are a perfect way to create a cozy atmosphere around the windows. Plywood beautifully combines naturalness and elegance, and moreover, wood is a timeless material, always in line with trends, that harmoniously blends into any interior design style, from rustic to modern.
Paulina is an emotional, open, and creative individual. Upon entering her home, we can feel that it is a reflection of her personality – it offers many open and accessible spaces while hiding mysterious nooks, compartments, and drawers accessible to only a few.
Paulina aimed for simple yet unique forms, and we are delighted that we could create a consistent, inviting, and functional space for her, where birch plywood dominates. We are absolutely convinced that birch plywood is a material that provides limitless design possibilities, allowing the creation of unique interiors that reflect the character and passions of the inhabitants.
In conclusion, this is not our final word on Paulina’s house. We will certainly return for another photoshoot accompanied by delicious coffee because we have children’s rooms and several ongoing projects in the pipeline.
