Does plywood in bathrooms really work? Yes, yes and again YES!
Plywood furniture makes a great impression, especially when they live in a seemingly unusual place, for example in a bathroom. However, you often ask us if plywood is really suitable for a wet room. We have already answered in the first sentence, but let’s not be groundless!
We have a lot of experience – specimens from Wood Republic have long been used in bathrooms all over Europe and according to first-hand information, i.e. from our customers, our plywood furniture is perfect in terms of durability, strength, appearance and fit.
Wood Republic is not only about the design.
Before you get your bathroom furniture or built-in, we keep our finger on the pulse. We discuss technical matters together and suggest what to pay attention to. Then a project is created. Each is tailored to an individual bathroom and takes into account all its specific places.
Need evidence? Sure, nobody likes buying a pig in a poke! Below we give you a handful of information.
- Comprehensive impregnation, also inside and on the back, ensures hydrophoby, which means that the surface of the furniture does not absorb water, swells or delaminates, which already gives them a huge advantage over the still most frequently chosen laminated furniture board.
- Durability and stability – this is what our furniture is famous for. Whoever has dealt with them once, knows.
- Holes for fittings – we cut them in our carpentry shop based on technical data. It also happens that customers send us sinks or taps, which we measure on the spot. The cabinets are designed so that they perfectly hide the siphons, and at the same time are as spacious as possible.
- Measurements – depending on the situation, we rely on the measurements provided by the client or we travel to the place and make them ourselves.
- Design – we prepare it in our design studio. We want the furniture or buildings to fit into the space as well as possible, be as functional as possible, cleverly hide all siphons, pipes and contain all bathroom artifacts and above all, to meet your expectations
- Accessories – we also create additional elements that connect the whole: window recesses, plywood wall cladding, sliding doors, frame construction… and everything else that you dream of with plywood.
- Assembly – when it comes to development, assembly is always done by our team, which knows what it is.
- Plywood is an excellent alternative to popular solutions. It is not a small wooden pieces, but a whole piece of wood, which most beautifully and fully reflects the natural pattern of wood. The specificity of this material allows us to make uniform tops up to 250 cm long.
After all, we do not urge you to take our word for it, so we provide photo evidence below.
The photo shows a chest of drawers with a clever storage compartment for laundry – it is located in a deep drawer on the left. Thanks to this solution, there is no need to put a separate container for dirty clothes in the bathroom. The middle part is a door that hides a height-adjustable shelf. Handles for cabinets and drawers were selected by the customer. This piece of furniture, beautifully colored with oil-wax, antique oak perfectly corresponds to the loft metal elements.
